GOVERNOR'S AWARD

TUESDAY OCTOBER 9, 2018

We took a field trip to the capitol this week to receive a Governor's Award for the Arts and Humanities! Ciné was one of 10 organizations statewide to receive this year's award, and we are honored to have been nominated alongside some of the best arts organizations in the state. We look forward to many more years of serving our community with film and arts programming at 234 W. Hancock Avenue.

Thank you to the Athens Downtown Development Authority for nominating Ciné, and to our friends Kathy Prescott, Grady Thrasher, Crystal Furlong, Lemuel ‘Life’ LaRoche and Andrew N. Shearer for their wonderful testimonials.

The award is a handcrafted driftwood sculpture by Valdosta-based folk artist Amy Lansburg. The Governor's Award for Arts and Humanities is presented by Georgia Council for the Arts and Georgia Humanities.
